Any language usually reflects the realities of life very well. Who remembers at what point work became employment? Candidates started coming and saying – get me a job somewhere! Or here is the phrase – work relations – almost completely disappeared from the language. Because there is no more work, no relations. But there is onboarding and teambuilding.
Remember, people used to “burn with enthusiasm” and this was a positive characteristic. And now they burn out, and this is not at all a positive thing.
I quite often hear arguments: “All this is long outdated. Now is a completely different time.” And then the person shares: “I always dreamed of remote work. I got it. It turned out that remotely you can only engage in meaningless correspondence, and all serious issues are resolved only in person.”
The dream of an interesting job is slowly but surely turning into the Karpman triangle (Tyrant-Savior-Victim). It’s only interesting when you need to save someone!
The most important thing is missing – a sense of being needed, understanding the importance and significance of your work, and the ability to control its results. Now, in fact, sometimes even the opportunity to talk to your manager is like a bonus! Everyone has no time, and when working remotely, it is often impossible to “get through to” this manager.
It is not surprising that sooner or later a depressive state sets in.
According to my observations, the need to be heard is now the top priority for many. Even the need to increase income has gone to second place. What are your observations?
