We did it — 11,800 miles or 19,000 km across the USA, Mexico and Central America in our American Dodge, which we bought in Idaho for $1000. You could say that the car had completely paid for all the money invested in it. In 4 months of continuous travel, we only had to go to the service center once to change the fuel pump. Otherwise, the car behaved perfectly. We reached Panama City. Formally, we are now in South America.
The Panama Canal. Incredible beauty. Panama is a modern country, a mix of the USA, Europe, and Central America. And Panama City is quite a modern metropolis with skyscrapers, banks, shopping centers and expensive hotels. And all this splendor on the waterfront, with flowers and playgrounds, bike paths and stadiums. I am very happy, I missed civilisation.
