Belize is a nation on the eastern coast of Central America, with Caribbean Sea shorelines to the east and dense jungle to the west.
Belize is a large tropical village stretched in the Caribbean. Belize City is not even a city-type settlement, it is just a village. On the other hand, the population of the whole country is 300,000 people in total.
For two centuries Belize was the territory of the United Kingdom. So obtaining a visa to Belize is comparable to obtaining an English visa (OMG!). Fortunately, Russians can get a visa at the border or at the consulate in Chetumal (Mexico). We used the latter. It was quite expensive – $50 per person.
But the proximity to nature and the beautiful waters of the Caribbean gives the locals an amazing state of relaxation, which immediately passed on to us. Tomorrow we are sailing to see the reefs.
